The Prepared Envionment
At wBees Forest School, we believe that creating a classroom environment with a child in mind can unleash the child’s greatest potential. With that in mind, our teachers are constantly observing our children and crafting a classroom space designed to encourage independence and create a space of order and beauty. The classroom design offers individual, small, and larger table work options as well as plenty of mat workspace. The prepared environment is designed to facilitate maximum independent learning and exploration by the child.
All of the Montessori curriculum areas are sorted by shelves that are accessible and on the child’s level. Children move freely, and there is a harmonious flow of energy in our classroom as children choose the works that engage them and maneuver seamlessly to a work area of their choice.
Our classrooms are curated to provide a diverse collection of materials and content that follow the developmental progression of our children that span across different areas such as social-emotional learning to math and sensorial exploration. Teachers observe and provide direction and learning opportunities catered to each child.
When we’re not in the classroom, you can find us exploring our local green spaces, learning about the natural rhythms of nature, and engaging with our local community. We believe that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes. We strive to embrace the world in its purest states and to educate with a foundation of honesty, curiosity, and diverse perspectives.
